So I started listening to the debut album, “17” from XXXTENTACION with extremely low expectations. I was completely wrong about what I was getting into. I intended just to dip my toes in to the new music of this artist who I have heard quite a stir about with no intention of sticking around long. I started listening to the album this morning and I think I’m on my 6th or 7th time through. XXXTENTACION is a diverse artist with some true demons that he laments and fights with throughout his new album.

Honestly you need to listen to this full album because it is really incredible to be completely honest. I wanted to pick out one track though that just describes the entire vibe of this thing and that is the song, “Jocelyn Flores.” The chilled out sampling mixed with acoustic guitars and XXX’s actually well written lyrics make for quite the depressing song…but the groove is so damn good. If you were an old school Cudi fan, this music is definitely for you. It’s on a different level though in my opinion. If you like “Jocelyn Flores,” you will love the rest of this album. Check it out.
